Newtown Veterinary Hospital is looking for experienced veterinary technicians to join our busy 6 doctor practice. CVT is a plus, but not necessary for experienced applicants. We prefer at least 1-2 years experience in anesthesia. We have technicians with EVERY patient from induction through recovery.
Senior technicians duties include, but are not limited to: proficient venipuncture & catheter placement, induction, maintenance and recovery of surgical patients, must be able to understand EKG's, calculating and administering drugs, patient treatments and nursing care, initiating fluid therapies, administer chemotherapy, performing dental prophies, radiography (we have digital radiology), running blood and cytology samples (we have an in-house lab), client education, surgery/hospital discharges, running appointments, doing dental prophies,charting and noting abnormalities to dental dentition, taking dental radiographs(We have a digital dental xray unit as well).
Senior technicians have the highest responsibility here. Our doctors rely heavily on our senior technicians. We are not your typical private practice. The senior technicians are also responsible for helping to train other staff members and participate in teaching Manor College Nursing students on their externships.
Requirements
Qualifying applicants would be joining our surgical staff, but all seniors have at least 1 evening shift where they are the lead technician in charge of running appointments, discharge surgical patients ,overseeing appointment technicians on their shift, client interaction , communication and education . Seniors also rotate Saturday shifts once a month. Schedule is not always set and may vary due to hospital needs, but is flexible.

Newtown Veterinary Hospital is looking for technicians to join our exam room technical staff. Job duties include, but are not limited to greeting and bringing clients into exam rooms, getting medical histories, running lab samples, reading cytology samples and slides, restraint of patients for exams, filling prescriptions, client education, blood withdrawal(with experience or we will train), radiographs (we have digital radiology), animal care, help with animal treatments and medicating. We are looking for full and part-time applicants.
Requirements
We need positive, outgoing people to join our team. We are looking for multi-taskers that are able to keep up with a fast pace. We are a busy private practice that performs surgery 4 days a week and we see appts Monday-Friday 8am-8pm and Saturdays 8am-4pm. Saturdays are a must. Schedule is not set all the time due to hospital needs, but is flexible. MUST be a team player!! If your not please do not apply.
