VETERINARY PRODUCTS SALES CONSULTANT
General Econopak is a well-established, Philadelphia-based manufacturer of high quality, disposable procedure packs, draping and gowning systems for the veterinary healthcare industry. We are hiring a Sales Consultant to help us develop new customers and to maintain contact with existing veterinary private-practice/hospital and lab animal research clients. This individual will be trained to become expert in the technical aspects of the company’s products and how they are applied, and will become proficient in recommending solutions on a consultative basis. This position will report to our Veterinary Product Specialist who has been active in building this business for many years.
Ideally, we would like to find a candidate who has a few years experience as a Veterinary Technician with working knowledge of animal or human surgical environments and sterile surgical technique, and who has the interpersonal skills and the ability to achieve the personal and financial satisfaction that a sales career can provide.
Expectations for this position are as follows:
- Expand penetration of GEPCO products at existing clients. Establish strong customer relationships to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Develop relationships with new customers and establish credibility by using a consultative sales approach.
- Track lists of board certified veterinary surgeons and research veterinary groups/society lists to identify new sales opportunities.
- Maintain customer/prospect database using ACT sales contact management program.
- Attend trade shows/conferences and work in support of companies other marketing initiatives.
- Meet with clients at veterinary practices/hospitals and lab animal facilities in support of sales efforts.

Zoo Veterinary Technician Preceptorship: The Philadelphia Zoo Animal Health Department is offering a preceptor position to Senior Veterinary Technician students from accredited programs. No stipend, housing or transportation provided. Minimum of 6 weeks, 30-40 hours weekly, Monday through Friday, 8am – 5pm, possible week-end call in for special cases. Start and end dates are negotiable.
Requirements: Proof of immunity to measles (rubeola) and a negative Mantoux tuberculin (TB) test within 12 months of starting the preceptorship.
Duties: Preceptor will receive hands on experience assisting our veterinary staff (three clinical veterinarians, three CVTs and a veterinary pathologist) with daily duties, including but not limited to- anesthesia monitoring, radiology, animal care/husbandry, in-house diagnostics and shipment to outside labs, treatment and handling of patients, filling prescriptions, and eligibility to participate in other educational opportunities within the zoo.
Skills: A positive attitude and strong willingness to learn, able to work well as a member of a team, good communication skills, ability to stay focused and level headed in multiple situations.

Part-time Veterinary Technician
The New Bolton Center of the University of Pennsylvania is seeking a part-time veterinary technician with anesthesia experience at our Kennett Square campus. Duties include: Preparation of research animals and Operating/Procedure Rooms for surgery, circulating nurse duties, maintaining aseptic technique. Provide anesthesia for routine cases, including IV catheter placement, induction, intubation, evaluation of anesthetic depth, medication administration, maintenance and recovery. Consult with clinical veterinary staff regarding treatment plans. May oversee and assist veterinary technician students during their clinical externships. May participate in some clinical care. Lift and restrain various size dogs. Maintain medical equipment and supplies.
An Associate's Degree in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited school and at least 1 year of anesthesia experience required. Certified Veterinary Technician or eligible to sit for the VTNE.
Position includes 2-3 days per week, regular weekday hours.

Office Manager - This person will be managing the reception and technical staff (about 15 people combined), ensuring proper and timely completion of veterinary and office tasks, directing and monitoring work flow, and compliance with AAHA, OSHA, and other state and federal requirements.
Requirements
We prefer a certified veterinary technician with staff management responsibility.
At a minimum, we need someone who has a strong understanding of medical equipment (ie: X-Ray, surgical instruments, blood machines, etc.) or who has supervised technicians using this equipment.
Experienced with training and managing technical and clerical staff.
Proficient in dealing with clients, doctors, staff and outside professionals (ie: referring veterinarians) in a professional and timely manner.
